It has been an amazing week of training! I am so excited to have this opportunity to work for the National Park Service in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I am one of 5 seasonal employees that were hired for the season. Of course I am the oldest hire but that is ok, I know I have a lot to contribute.

The training has been like Ranger training bootcamp. We have hiked, 4-6 miles on both mountains in the heat. Went on many training activities, watched videos, and heard experts in their field. I was feeling a little overwhelmed until Thursday then we got into a groove.

Next week we will be learning a lot more plus creating our own interpretive talks to give to the public. I already have an idea of what I want to talk about so we will see how it goes. The team here is wonderful and very supportive.
